Dr. Contessa has personal experience with finding answers for her own health and knows what a difference the right care provider can make. In fact, her own experience with functional medicine is the reason why she’s passionate about helping others improve their own health.

Dr.  Contessa lives by the motto, “Prevention is the key to healthy living.”

Dr. Contessa Metcalfe attended Xavier University where she earned her undergraduate degree.  She then attended Saint Louis University School of Medicine, and residency at the National Naval Medical Center and Meharry Medical College.  She focuses on preventive, occupational and integrative medicine and addiction therapy.

Dr. W. Scott Metcalfe, MD, is a Family practitioner with over 20 years of experience in the medical field. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in 1993 and in 1999 obtained his Medical Doctorate from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Residency training was completed at Genesys regional medical center in Flint, Michigan. After residency, Dr. Metcalfe joined Browning Claytor family health center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and pursued a lifelong dream of delivering medical care to the underinsured and non-insured community. In 2006 Dr. Metcalfe relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, and began to carve his niche in preventive medicine and primary care.

The Doctors enjoy spending time together with their three children, physical fitness, and traveling in their spare time.
